My dear Ed,
This is an example of a WordPress page, you could edit this to put information about yourself or your site so readers know where you are coming from. You can create as many pages like this one or sub-pages as you like and manage all of your content inside of WordPress.
I grew up in Pekin, Illinois in a large family of nine, moi being #7. Married to an attorney, one daughter and 4 GRAND babies. Not to let any grass grow under my feet….yet……..I have a website for selling “to the trade” designer fabrics at discount pricing, discountdesignerfabricsonline.com, interior designing with window treatments being my specialty, lunches with girlfriends, a Hole-in-One……..yea years ago, dream more about traveling than I do, still cooking, gardening, reading several books a week………well, you get the picture.
This site is to share with you what my Aunt Catherine didn’t get to even start upon her retirement. My age is where she was when her health began to fail her, and I am making it my goal to “write about the family” as she bestowed on me in 1992. Her request will end upon my entering the last “page” of “My dear Ed,” which should happen a 100 years after these letters first began, April 2010.
I may need a vote of confidence from time to time, so please, please, please leave a Comment.

He was Uncle Ed to me. My Grandfather was Timothy John Whalen and he and Uncle Ed were brothers. My Father was George William Whalen. I met Kayleen Harrington last summer. My e-mail is locked down–I have to have an exact e-mail address for you to send me any e-mail. Kayleen and I exchange e-mail sometimes. You can relay to my through Kayleen. Glad to know about these letters. Therese Rardin
Welcome Cousin-!!
I called Tim Whalen last night to ask about George Whalen’s family and I was thrilled to learn I have more cousins-!!! We should plan a family reunion sometime at the original Whalen farm. I have postals sent by your grandmother, Julia, and a photo taken with her and OUR Great-grandmother, Mary Whalen, (Ed’s mother) together……… which I will be posting them too.
Have you ever run across any 1910 letters and postal cards from Minnie and wondered about them? I would love to see and read them.
Right now, Kayleen is recovering from major surgery. I am sure she would love hearing from you via email.
